Defects were not isolated to a sample — pocket direction was wrong on every colourway and rise seam misalignment appeared on almost every unit checked. That makes this a run-level fault, not a sampling result, so it was escalated as a reject rather than a sort.

These are the categories written into our production contracts, so a finding here is not a matter of opinion — it is a contractual defect the factory is obliged to correct.
Liability: any defect arising from a specification changed without the buyer's prior written approval is the factory's responsibility to correct, per contract.

Tolerance: 3% of spec.
Anything outside ±3% is a measurement defect under section 04 item 4, not a judgement call.
Measure to the buyer's point-of-measure list where one exists; otherwise to the approved sample. Record what was measured, not what was expected.
07 — Inspection billing (at cost)
Attach the inspector's own invoice to this report. If nothing beyond baseline was run, this section reads $0 and still gets sent.

Summary
Five of the eight contract defect types were present, and two of them — pocket seam direction and rise seam alignment — appeared across every colourway rather than in isolated units. Measurements failed the 3% band in both directions, and grey M and L came off the line at identical measurements, meaning the grading had not been applied at all.
The first run was rejected. Defective units were pulled and returned to the factory with the findings above, and the factory was instructed to re-produce rather than rework wherever rework would not hold the shipping date. Nothing from that run was released to the buyer.
The re-produced lot was inspected again before release. All six findings cleared and the goods shipped. The buyer received the corrected production, not the first run — which is the entire point of inspecting during production rather than after it.
