Traders, Before Opening

The Site

Display finished at an Emart Traders store. Traders runs on bulk, wide aisles and high stacks, so apparel has to be built to be understood from a distance and picked up without a conversation.

The Odd Part

I have walked through this format many times as a customer, pushing a cart on a Saturday with everyone else. Standing inside one before opening, empty, with a box cutter in my hand and our stock on the floor, is a different building entirely.

The Work

Sizes out, fronts facing, heavier categories low. Nothing complicated about it. The whole job is deciding what a customer sees in the first two seconds and putting that within reach. Anything that needs a hanger tag read up close will not sell here, so those pieces go somewhere else.

Strange feeling, working in a shop you have only ever shopped in. Not a bad one.
