Pallet Day
Nothing Came In
No inbound today. We went out instead. Pallets leave with every shipment and they do not walk back on their own, so every so often a truck goes around the partner sites and collects what has piled up.
The Numbers
One truck holds 180. We brought back around 700, which is four runs and most of a day, and the driver earned whatever he was paid for it. Some sites had them stacked and ready, some had them scattered behind a building, and that difference is most of the reason the day takes as long as it does.

Why Bother
Because 700 pallets is a real cost if you have to buy them again, and because a partner's yard filling up with our empties is a small courtesy problem that turns into a large one if you leave it.

The cheapest item in the warehouse stops being cheap around the seven hundredth pcs.
