Snowed In

On The Road

Heading out to a site in the provinces when the snow made the decision for me. Not a light fall. The kind where the lane markings disappear and the cars ahead start moving at walking speed with their hazards on.

Forced Break

So I stopped. There is no version of this where arriving two hours late is worse than not arriving, and there is nothing at a display site urgent enough to argue with a road like that.

The Waiting

Sat it out with a coffee and watched the car park fill up with white. Everyone else on the road had come to the same conclusion at roughly the same time. I made the calls I had been putting off, which is the only productive thing available in a car park.

Snow is beautiful to watch and inconvenient to drive through, and both of those are true at the same time.
